We build the editor we always wanted

Wisecut began in 2019 with a simple frustration: editing voice-driven video took hours of manual work. Two brothers — a video editor and an engineer — decided to teach a machine to do it. Today more than 1 million creators, broadcasters and podcasters use Wisecut to turn long footage into clips.

Who we are

An editing craft turned into software

Ivo spent years in post-production, cutting interviews and long-form video frame by frame. Vicente builds systems. Together they turned an editor's judgement — where to cut, when to breathe, which line matters — into an AI that does the same at scale. Wisecut is a remote company between Brazil and the United States, headquartered in Miami.

How we got here

  • 2019

    The first cut

The idea starts as a tool to edit voice-driven videos automatically, removing silences and pauses without touching a timeline.

  • 2020

    Wisecut goes public

The first version launches with automatic cuts, subtitles and background music that ducks under the speaker's voice.

  • 2022

    Long to short

The platform learns to read entire recordings and pull out the moments worth publishing as short-form clips.

  • 2023

    A deal on a napkin

Over breakfast in São Paulo, investor Tim Draper tries the product and commits $1M — signed on the back of a napkin. Generative AI enters the platform.

  • 2025

    One million creators

Wisecut passes 1 million users after growing 4,000% in a year, and starts working with broadcasters and streaming platforms.

  • Today

    Clips at any scale

Long-to-short workflows, smart auto-verticalization and live AI cutting for interviews, talk shows and live events.

What we believe

  • Editing is storytelling

Automation should protect the intent of the story, not flatten it. Every cut our AI makes has a reason behind it.

  • Speed changes what gets made

When publishing takes minutes instead of days, creators tell stories they would otherwise abandon.

  • Built with creators

Most of what ships comes from watching real editors work and listening to the people already using Wisecut every day.
